Combining her background in
advertising, marketing, and design with her study of the mind, art and spirituality,
Karin knows it is truly possible to leverage and join both your innate
skills and achievements with a life that is on purpose and full of meaning.
She
has dedicated her work to understanding the connection between
the two worlds
of business and our greater life purpose.
It is her firm belief that those two worlds are not mutually exclusive,
but inherently interdependent for our lives to be fully activated and rich with
meaning.
Education.
Karin is a graduate of the Cooper Union
for the Advancement of Art, Architecture and Engineering, the premiere art
school in North America. She
attended New York City-based Cooper Union on full scholarship, as well as
had the honor of a full year of scholarship study at France’s prestigious Ecole des Arts
Decoratifs in Paris.
Her design and
marketing work includes many Fortune 500 companies, including American
Express, Dreyfus Investments, Mastercard International, RJR Nabisco,
Takashimaya, Holt Renfrew, and the Government of New York State. She also has worked extensively for
Conde Nast Publications, including such magazines as Vogue, Mademoiselle, House
and Garden, and GQ.
Influences
and interests.
Karin’s diverse background includes a wide facility
of expression in the
fine arts, performing arts, as well as the distinction of
studying under renowned conceptual artists Hans Haacke and Vito Acconci. She has a deep interest in the
work of those who have pioneered the connection between the mind and body, and
has studied and taught yoga extensively.
Having grown up in both New York City and its neighboring Long Island,
Karin currently lives with her husband and two children in beautiful Richmond, British Columbia, just outside of Vancouver.
